“Akela, the great gray Lone Wolf, who led all the Pack by strength and cunning, lay out at full length on his rock, and below him sat forty or more wolves of every size and color, from badger-colored veterans who could handle a buck alone to young black three-year-olds who thought they could.”

― Rudyard Kipling, The Jungle Book

After Reading The Jungle Book and growing up on animal movies like Balto and Call of the Wild I have always wanted a wolf. That intuitive yellow eyed glare always fascinated me. I wanted to look at it every day. Wolves, of course, and wolf hybrids, have their own set of challenges when in a domestic setting. Like it or not they are not your domestic canine and can sometimes be difficult to train. I wanted a wolf, or something close to it. I already had a dog growing up in my high school years, but I knew my next dog would be something “wolflike”. Then I discovered Game of Thrones. Yes Game of Thrones introduced me to the Northern Inuit and I fell in love like so many others had. Watching the magical link between Arya and her wild direwolf Nymeria thrilled me just as much as the wolves in The Jungle Book. I wanted that bond. I really could have a “wolf” in my living room! Being a full time college student at the time I was not able to fulfill my dream of owning a Northern Inuit right away. In 2018 I was able to cross that dream off my bucket list when I drove to the Chicago Airport to pick up my “wolf” from the Scottish Northern Inuit kennel Kayentay. Rina might not have that yellow eyed stare I had dreamed of, but her gaze is just as haunting as a normal wolves glare. That amber focus makes me pause every time and smile. That brings me now to you, the reader. If you are reading this you are probably wondering if you can acquire a puppy from one of my special Nitwits (Term used to describe a delightfully idiotic northern Inuit). My name is Jensen Pierson and your breeder at IronSword. Send me an email, introduce yourself, and fill out a puppy questionnaire.
